Given that I normally eat these for Thanksgiving or Christmas, I would normally post this recipe in the winter, around the holiday season; however, with everyone’s new bread-baking obsession, I figured that now would be a wonderful time to introduce you to my mother’s famous Cinnamon Rolls.
This recipe has been in our family for generations. When I was a child, my mother used to make these cinnamon rolls for the holidays. When my siblings and I were old enough, she would enlist us to help her, giving us the fun jobs of rolling the cinnamon sugar on the rolls. Then, when my kids were born, she enlisted their help too, giving them the same fun jobs. Ever since, we’ve been keeping the tradition alive making these cinnamon rolls year after year. They never fail to impress and they make enough to feed a large crowd.
Not to mention these rolls require some kneading, so if you happen to have some quarantine stress, go ahead and take in out on that dough! I find that working with bread and dough is a HUGE stress relief for me. I even found myself a sourdough starter so get excited for some sourdough recipes that might be coming soon. If you don’t know how to knead dough, I found this video that is quick and easy to follow.
This is a great dish to make with your family and is a wonderful way to spend some of that extra time you might have on your hands. I really have fun with this recipe and I hope you do too!
