I know what you’re probably thinking! “Ugh, another Valentine’s Day post! This holiday drives me crazy!” And I get it! This holiday can be extremely hard for a lot of people! Trust me, I’ve spent many Valentine’s Days sulking and avoiding any indication of the horrible holiday. But, then I decided that was a pointless way to spend my holiday, so I started a new tradition with my friends where we all celebrated together! We watched cheesy rom-coms (I love About Time), drinking wine, and best of all, making Valentine’s day themed treats! Which is where these Valentine’s themed Vegan Sugar Cookies were born!
This recipe is so insanely simple! And so insanely good! And you almost 100% have all of these ingredients in your household already, so there’s no excuses for not making them! You can use any cookie cutters you like, but if you want to go Valentine’s day themed, then go for hearts like I did! And go crazy with decorations! The more, the better!
As for allergy substitutions, the vegan margarine I used was Earth Balance (they have soy-free and vegan options). For the egg replacer, I used Bob’s Red Mill egg replacer, although you can use any egg replacer you prefer! For the vegan milk, I used Califia Farm’s Oat Milk, but there are so many substitute milks out there, you can surely use your favorite brand! If you’re also worried about the food coloring, check out Vegan Dollhouse’s article on vegan food coloring options here!
I really hope you enjoy your Valentine’s Day weekend! Be sure to make some Vegan Sugar Cookies to accompany you along the way! You know what also pairs well with Valentine’s Day? Chocolate! Check out this recipe for chocolatey Vegan World Peace Cookies! They’re incredible! Have a wonderful weekend! I’ll talk to you next week!
